This Community Making Every Contact Count Training is a shorted version of the full Making Every Contact Count (MECC) course*.

Community MECC is aimed at people who are volunteering in a community role.  The training enables you to understand the key lifestyle factors that affect people in Warrington and why it is important to discuss lifestyle behaviour in everyday conversations.  A MECC conversation is designed to take only a couple of minutes and focuses on the needs of an individual through an informal and flexible approach.

A short conversation could support someone to consider a healthy lifestyle change, or engage with a service for the first time.

This Community MECC session aims to:

  • Increase understanding of the key lifestyle factors that affect people in Warrington.
  • Explain how opportunistic conversations can support people to make a positive change to their lives.
  • Improve awareness of how and where to signpost / refer individuals for further information or support.
