This course is for anyone that works with anyone in a charity, community or voluntary group setting as staff or a volunteer. Taken from the perspective of the worker, the course is focused on avoiding challenging situations. It looks at the present perspective of Safeguarding for Group A (frontline delivery).

 

There are various courses available that take safeguarding from the client's perspective, this course flips the idea around and looks at it from the 'worker's' viewpoint.  This makes the information relevant in a number of situations from planning to delivery and evaluation.  The course also features logistic and operational information to support organisations create a holistic approach to keeping everyone involved safe

The course covers:

- Current principles of Safeguarding

- Who do we Safeguard and how?

- Types of abuse and their signs and signifiers

- Practical tools and considerations

- Reporting and recording

This course is free to members of WVA

Due to the relationship and communication, the tutor has with the learners we politely ask that each learner directly registers themselves with an email address they can access.

Please note that lunch will NOT be provided for this day session.  Tea/coffee will be available.

Due to the small numbers of the learner group, we may ask that one representative from an organisation attends at any one time.  Additional learners will be added to the waitlist for the next session.
