Good Neighbour Support

Essential Shopping

Providing essential shopping for a person who is unable to shop for themselves and does not have anyone else who can help. It’s likely that this will be a one-off shop but we can provide short term support for up to 3 weeks and try to find a longer-term solution if necessary.

PLEASE NOTE: we use and online system to process payments and reimburse volunteers so the beneficiary has to be able to provide their bank details to a member of the team or be able to set themselves up on the system.

Prescription Collections

Collecting medication from a pharmacy and delivering it to a person who is unable to do this for themselves (due to low mobility or they are self-isolating) and does not have anyone else who can help.

Phone Buddy

A friendly chat with someone on the phone to help that person to feel part of the community and socially connected.

Walking Buddy

Walking with an individual to provide company whilst helping to keep active and enjoying some fresh air.

Garden Gate Buddy

A friendly chat with someone in the garden or in another outdoor space e.g. local park

Link Buddy

Accompanying someone to their first few sessions at a local community group or club to help them to feel more confident about attending independently.

Tech Buddy

Helping someone with basic technology which to help them to feel better connected with friends and family and/or be able to live more independently e.g. order groceries online

One-Off Tasks

Helping someone with very simple one-off tasks that can really help to make a difference e.g. brushing some leaves off a drive or moving a plant pot

Walking to Wellness (Previously known as Health Walks)

Walking to Wellness is short walks from a local community centre that aim to help people with low mobility go for a short walk in a non-pressuring environment and meet afterward at the community centre for a drink and a biscuit and a chance to spend some time with other people. The walks are led by trained volunteers and at the community centres people have the chance to meet and talk to their local wellbeing worker.
