Cheshire Community Foundation Covid-19 Response Grants Programme

Funding Available: Up to £10,000

Types of activities that are being considered under this Covid-19 Response Grants Programmes include (but are not limited to):

  • community response coordination to COVID-19
  • additional volunteer costs
  • additional costs of working remotely and adapting services for disadvantaged and vulnerable people delivered in the wider community
  • support for lonely and vulnerable people who are self-isolating.
  • support in the wider community  for foodbanks for families and vulnerable people and organisations working to combat child hunger

Cheshire PCC Safer Communities Fund - Express Grants

Funding Available: Up to £1000

The Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) for Cheshire has released an Express Grants fund which is aimed at supporting not for profit organisations to deliver community based projects or initiatives to meet immediate or emergency need.

Steve Morgan Foundation Emergency Fund

Funding Available: Discretionary

In response to COVID-19 pandemic Steve Morgan Foundation has introduced an emergency fund to support charities and not for profit companies in its remit area (Merseyside, North Wales and Cheshire west of M6).

Coalfields Covid-19 Recovery and Reslilience Fund

Funding available: Up to £10,000

DEadline: 29th May 2020 (eligibility survey deadline) for applications to be received by 12th June 2020 at 5pm

Grants for organisations that are delivering support services or have significantly adapted their services in order to respond to the current crisis and support vulnerable people.

Coronavirus Mental Health Response Fund

Funding Available:  Small grants of up to £20,000 and larger grants of up to £50,000

Deadline:  5 June 2020 

Grants are available to help Voluntary and Community Sector organisations based in England to continue to provide mental health services or provide additional support.

Sport England Community Emergency Fund

Funding Available: £300-£10,000

Deadline: 31st July 2020

This new fund aims to help community sport and physical activity organisations who are experiencing short term financial hardship or the ceasing of operations due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

Alpkit Foundation - Grassroots Support

Funding Available: £500

Alpkit welcome any applications from individuals or organisations serving those affected by  coronavirus, across the country.

Funding Available: FUNDING CURRENTLY PAUSED DUE TO HIGH DEMAND (updated 28/04/20)

Heritage Emergency Fund

Funding available: £3000-£10,000

Deadline: 30th June 2020

Funding is available to safeguard heritage sites and organisations that have previously been funded through the Heritage Fund to ensure they are not lost to the public.

Hope for the Young - Covid-19 Emergency Fund 

Funding Available: Up to £250

Small grants to support young refugees and asylum seekers during the coronavirus pandemic.

Lonliness Covid-19 Fund

Funding available: £500,000-£1,000,000

Deadline: 29th May 2020

Large organisations working to tackle loneliness and build social connections are invited to apply for a share of £5 million of funding, which the government is investing to help them to continue and adapt their critical work.

Morrisons Covid-19 Homeless Support

Funding available: Up to £10,000

The fund is designed to support charities caring for the homeless during the coronavirus outbreak and ensure help gets to those who need it most.

Neighbourly Covid-19 Community Fund

(open to existing members of Neighbourly)

Funding Available: up to £400

Grants for existing members of Neighbourly whose work will involve supporting members of the community suffering economically, socially or from ill-health as a result of the outbreak.

NSUN (National Survivor User Network) Covid-19 Funding

Funding Available: Up to £1000

Grants to support community action, peer support, mutual aid and other activities that will make a direct difference to the lives of people living with mental ill-health, trauma and distress during this Covid-19 period.

Standard Life Foundation Coronavirus Pandemic Fast Track Applications

Funding available: Grants of £5000 plus

Funding for groups and organisations addressing specific challenges and helping to contribute to social change which tackles financial problems and improves living standards for those on low-to-middle incomes in the UK.

Tesco Bags of Help COVID-19 Communities Fund

Funding Available: Single award of £500

Tesco Bags of Help is responding to the current Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis by setting up a new short-term fund to support local communities.

The National Lottery - Community Fund

Funding Available: Up to £10,000 (Awards for All) and Over £10,000 (Reaching Communities)

The National Lottery has now made two changes to their current funding streams in response to COVID-19:

  1. All of the funding decisions they make for the next six months (up to £300m of National Lottery funding) will be devoted to addressing the current crisis.
  2. The National Lottery will accelerate the cash part of this funding as much as they can in order to get the money to where it needs to be.

Youth Endowment Fund Covid-19 Grant Round

Funding Available: Discretionary (minimum grant £25,000)

The grant will fund and evaluate work which supports vulnerable young people at risk of youth violence, and can be delivered whilst adhering to UK government social distancing and stay-at-home guidelines.

Hilden Charitable Fund - Summer Play Schemes Grant

Funding Available: £500-£1500

Deadline: 29th May 2020

Grants are available to voluntary and community groups in the UK to help run summer play schemes for the benefit of disadvantaged children.

Annual competition offering funding awards to help projects for young people aged under 18 across England, Wales and Scotland.

Funding for public bodies, non-government organisations, community groups, charities, individuals and private companies, to support the planting and establishment of large and small trees in urban and peri-urban areas of England.

Funding Available: Up to £30 million

Deadline: 01 Jun 2020

A £30 million 5G competition for consortia of businesses, public and third sectors, including creative industries, designed to level up infrastructure across the UK.

FCC Communities Foundation (Previously WREN) 

Funding Available: £2000-£100,000

Funding for Village Halls and Community Centres; Public Play Areas; Publicly available Multi-use games areas, skate parks and BMX tracks; sport and recreation grounds including pavilions and clubhouses with full public access; Churches (community spaces only); Nature Reserves; Public gardens, parks, country parks and woodlands; Museums.

Neighbourhood Planning Grants and Support Programme 2018-22

Funding Available: Up to £15,000

Deadline: Fund available 2018-2022

The Government has allocated over £29m between 2018 - 2022 to support the development of neighbourhood plans or neighbourhood development orders.

Funding Available: Discretionary

Grants are available for registered charities carrying out housing projects providing homes for those in need in Great Britain.

Rugby League World Cup England 2021 - Capital Grants Programme 

Funding Available: Small awards up to £15,000 and larger over £15,000

£10m has been made available from the Government to deliver the CreatedBy RLWC2021 Capital Grants Programme. The Programme is dedicated to improving the environments where Rugby League takes place; giving people more and better opportunities to engage with the game and to get active. The fund will invest in facilities and equipment that create environments that are accessible, welcoming and build a legacy of the 2021 tournament in local communities.

Sport England - Major Event Volunteers Fund - FUND OPEN FOR ENQUIRIES

Funding Available: £10,000 - £100,000

Grants are available to national governing bodies or organisations hosting major sports events for projects that help individuals who are serving as volunteers at major events to make the transition to supporting sport in their local community.

Funding Available: Up to £25,000

Grant funding for charity projects which make a positive difference in local communities.

The Tudor Trust - Supporting Positive Change in Communties - FUND OPEN

The Tudor Trust wants to support smaller groups, embedded in their communities, which work directly with people who are on the edges of mainstream society in ways which encourage inclusion, integration and independence.  They are particularly interested in supporting work that develops and promotes the social connections and relationships which make such an important contribution to the well-being and quality of life of individuals, and which strengthens communities.

Funding available: Up to £30,000

Grants are available to support charities and not-for-profit organisations that provide lifetime support to those in need among serving Armed Forces personnel, veterans, and their immediate families.

Cheshire Community Foundation - Warrington Older Peoples Fund - Small Grants - ON HOLD

Cheshire Community Foundation would welcome applications to their Older People's Grants for up to £2000 of funding. 

Examples of recent successful bids to this fund have included things like funding for tables, chairs and other equipment, funding for trips, a gardening project and a project which promotes health and wellbeing.

Cheshire Safer Communities Fund - ON HOLD

The Safer Communities Fund has been established to encourage local residents and communities to get involved in the prevention and reduction of crime and to allow community groups to bid for monies to help create safer communities across Cheshire.  

Hays Travel Foundation - Supporting Young People - ON HOLD

This funding is intended for local groups which operate or have an impact in an area in which Hays Travel have a branch and whose project helps young people up to 25 years of age develop in at least one of these areas: education, prevention of poverty, health, arts, culture or sports.

Hays Travel Foundation - Supporting Our Communities - ON HOLD

While the Hays Travel Foundation primarily focuses on supporting young people, each branch has the freedom to make their own decision about who and what they would like to fundraise for. Whether you're an organisation or an individual and have a worthy cause, don't hesitate to approach your local Hays Travel for help.

Lane End New Beginnings - Supporting the Communities in which they build - ON HOLD

Lane End are currently developing a site on Academy Street in Warrington Town centre for Torus and, as part of their commitment to supporting the communities in which they build, they would like to hear from local charities and not for profit organisations. They have small donations of up to £500 up for grabs along with opportunities to work alongside their own supply chain and experts to develop ideas that would positively impact the local community. An independent charitable trust funded by the profits of Lloyds Banking Group. Lloyds Bank Foundation partner with small and local charities supporting: 

Addiction and Dependency; Asylum Seekers and Refugees; Domestic Abuse; Care Leavers; Homeless and Vulnerably Housed; Learning Disabilities; Sexual Abuse and Exploitation; Offending, Prison or Community Service; Mental Health; Trafficking and Modern Slavery; Young Parents.
