What would I be doing?

To provide access to the library service for members of the community, who
due to long or short term illness or disability, are unable to visit a library in
person. The role entails choosing and delivering books to them at their home
and returning them to the library as necessary.

Volunteer duties will include: Sourcing reading materials tailored to the client’s needs and interests. Regularly visiting the client to exchange books/reading materials. Renew the client’s books should they wish to keep them longer, Visit client on a day/time agreed between client and volunteer.
Note: Staying and chatting with the client when visiting is optional
however, many clients do value this as part of the service.

What skills do I need?

Skills you will need for the role are reliability, patience, be able to communicate effectively and enjoy meeting new people.
