What would I be doing?

Do you have experience of maximising social media channels? Are you interested in using your skills and experience to contribute to a community-based group?
As the Social Media Volunteer you will :-
Us social media to promote the activities and achievements of NEWCU
Keep our social media channels updated on a frequent basis.
Encourage others to comment on our posts and share them with others.
Ensure that communication reaches our members and a wide range of local stakeholders and diverse audience.
Develop and manage content for our website and social media, such as Twitter, Facebook & YouTube.
Select relevant channels to reach our diverse audiences.
Track the effectiveness of our social media work and recommend ways forward.
Test content and review its impact.
Keep up to date with NEWCU events and news. Choose what to promote through our social media feeds.

What skills do I need?

An understanding of different types of marketing and communications media, including electronic and social media, with proven experience in social media.
To be able to communicate effectively, be articulate, with strong writing skills and the ability to feedback accurately.
Ability to think creatively to transform small snippets of information into interesting and engaging stories suitable for Twitter, Facebook etc.
The ability to work equally well in a team and unsupervised.
An interest in, knowledge of or willingness to learn about NEWCU and credit unions generally.
Ability to share knowledge on social media with other volunteers within NEWCU with a view to increased understanding and use of social media.
Understanding of and commitment to confidentiality and equality and diversity.

About North East Warrington Credit Union (NEWCU) Limited

NEWCU is a credit union, run solely by volunteers for the benefit of all within the community. It is a membership organisation; membership is based on people having a 'Common Bond' such as living and working in a certain area.
Active since 1992, our Common Bond area covers the whole of the Borough of Warrington.
Our mission is to enhance the financial wellbeing of our members through our community based offering of safe savings and affordable loans and financial well being.

Recruitment and training details:

• A full induction to NEWCU and Credit Unions generally
• Full training on all aspects of the role
• Access to external training relevant to the role – dependant on cost
• Regular updates from NEWCU
• On-going support with an allocated person from NEWCU
• Opportunities to become involved in other NEWCU activities and volunteer roles
