Gardener for Making Space

Based: Warrington Town Centre

Availability: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday

What would I be doing?

•Manage the general maintenance of the garden e.g. weeding, pruning, watering plants.
•Liaise with staff in developing the garden e.g. planting new plants
•Treat people with respect following the organisation’s Equality and Diversity policy.
•Follow Making Space Health & Safety policy and procedures and to act responsibly
•Respect confidentiality but to report concerns if there is a risk to someone’s safety.

What skills do I need?

No qualifications are needed but you do need to have knowledge and experience of maintaining a garden, a desire to help people and an understanding of confidentiality.

About Making Space

Making Space is a national charity and leading provider of adult health and social care services. We provide care and support in the community, in people’s own homes, as well as specialist residential care services for vulnerable adults and carers.

Warrington Day Centre is a space for people living with mental health conditions to socialise and to get involved in meaningful activities to help build confidence and skills to support people to achieve their goals.

Recruitment and training details:

Relevant training to the role provided such as online awareness sessions and short courses. Full support provided. Weekday and Weekend post available. Weekend post will involve running 6 week project with different gardening topic each week.
