Support Group Assistant for After Silence

What would I be doing?

Overall be a supportive member helping with the smooth running of After silence and its activities.
You will be supporting the running of social media pages for the group by replying to messages and comments.
Attend a two hour weekly session where refreshments and activities will need to be set up. Support new members with paperwork and ensure they receive the correct information as well as checking in with current members. Possible opportunity to help with fundraising during the summer.

What skills do I need?

An understanding of community work and mental health. Good people and listening skills required. Computer literate.

About After Silence

After Silence is a peer support group for those who self harm and anyone who supports them. We have a weekly support group as well as online support for those who currently, previously or are having thoughts of self harm. We aim to provide a safe space free of judgement.

Family and friends of someone who self harms are also able to get support and advice on how to support.

Recruitment and training details:

Thorough induction will be provided and any relevant training that becomes available. You will never be asked to do something you don't feel confident doing.
