What would I be doing?

Digital champions are people who provide one-to-one support to help people access the internet and do more online. You don’t need to be a technical whizz but you will need to be a good communicator and have lots of patience. At Citizens Online we're passionate about digital inclusion. We work to reduce the digital divide and ensure that no one is left behind in the digital world. Our Digital Champion volunteers will be going into local sheltered housing schemes and helping people there to use the internet. Sessions will be held weekly in a communal area and lasting for around 1.5 hours.

This role offers full training, with some accredited courses, and is an opportunity for you to get involved with some community work, to learn new skills, meet new people and add CPD accredited courses and experience to your CV

What skills do I need?

Some digital skills but no need to be a technical whizz. Need to be friendly, patient and a good communicator.

Recruitment and training details:

Volunteers will undergo full training and will be given access to the Digital Champions Network where they can take additional courses and join a community of other digital champions. Volunteers will be assigned to a Digital Champion Coordinator who will support them ongoing.

This opportunity requires a DBS check. The cost of this will be covered.
This role is not suitable for those under 18.
