Prescription Collection for Good Neighbour Project

Role Type: Regular
Based: All of Warrington
Categories: Supporting people
Does this opportunity require independent working?: Yes
Is this opportunity suitable for someone looking to participate / first-time volunteer?: Yes

What would I be doing?

As a Good Neighbour Prescription Collector, you could be an invaluable help to someone who cannot otherwise collect their prescription due to immobility, health or shielding issues. It’s likely that this will be a one-off collection but that you may deliver prescriptions to a number of different people on separate occasions.

You will be collecting the medication from a pharmacy and delivering it to a person who is unable to collect it themselves.

Details of the pharmacy and the delivery address will be forwarded by the Project Officer. You must ensure that you are able to reach the pharmacy before closing time and be able to deliver the prescription on the same day. You should never store the prescription in your car or at your home. Prescriptions must be delivered to the recipient and never posted through a letterbox. If the person does not answer their door, contact the Project Officer. Further guidance will be given before you collect any prescriptions.

What skills do I need?

You must be able to drive and have access to your own vehicle.
Anybody can be a Good Neighbour volunteer as long as you have empathy and a desire, commitment and willingness to help people in the community who need it.
