What would I be doing?

Are you free Friday Evenings from 7:30 -9:00 pm can you spare two hours a week?

Could you encourage young people to find their own abilities, understand the importance of keeping fit and develop their creative talents?

How about inspiring confidence through supporting them practice survival skills?

Would you like to develop your skills in teamwork and participate in a wider spectrum of adventurous activities, from abseiling to zorbing?

We’re offering a great opportunity to help young people aged 10½–14 to have fun and be part of an amazing worldwide movement.

Could you be a Scout Leader? You'll get to work with a group of enthusiastic adult volunteers to create well-balanced programmes of activities to enable young people to gain confidence, develop their creative talents and work towards challenging awards & activity badges. We’re all about participation rather than meeting set standards and encouraging young people to explore their own values and personal attitudes.

We even offer the chance for you to further yourself through training in activities of your choice

What skills do I need?

Enthusiasm to work with young people.
A fun approach to life that's going to inspire a new generation.
Previous experience with young people isn't essential but would be helpful.
A willingness to get involved and be hands-on.
No practical skills are needed full training is given.
A love of the outdoors is an advantage as the young people take part in outdoor hikes and camping.

About 13th Warrington Scout Group (St Elphins Own)

Warrington East Scouts is one of two Scout Districts that cover the Warrington Area. We have groups spread across the East of Warrington covering the following areas of Croft, Culcheth, Glazebury, Hollins Green, Bichwood, Cinnamon Brow, Padgate, Woolston, Fairfield, Westy, Grappenahall,Thelwall, Lymm and Oughtrington. There are 15 Scout Groups and 4 Explorer Scout Units currently within the area with over 250 adults and a little over 1000 young people involved in structured activities every week.

The Scout Association is the UK's largest youth organisation, we believe in preparing young people with skills for life. We encourage our young people to do more, learn more and be more. Each week, we give over 460,000 young people aged between 6 - 25 the opportunity to enjoy fun and adventure while developing the skills they need to succeed. Recruitment and training details:

All full induction will be given along with lots of guidance help and support and full training will be provided. There is an opportunity to gain first aid training and many other skills to help with the role all training is paid for and provided.

This opportunity offers flexible and optional hours to suit, ideally around 2 hours a week, with the additional options to support camps and trips

DBS required. Costs are covered by the Scouts Association
