What would I be doing?

Are you free Wednesday Evenings from 6:15-7:30pm can you spare two hours a week?

Can you help build a balloon-powered rocket? How about inspiring new ideas through running games or making with glue, a toilet roll and a cereal box?

Would you like to develop your skills in teamwork? We’re offering a great opportunity to help young people aged 5¾–8 to have fun and be part of an amazing worldwide movement.

Could you be a Beaver Scout Leader? You'll get to work with a group of enthusiastic adult volunteers to create inspiring programmes of activities to enable young people to gain confidence, develop their creative talents and work towards badges and awards.

We even offer the chance for you to further yourself through training in activities of your choice

What skills do I need?

Enthusiasm to work with young people.
A fun approach to life that's going to inspire a new generation.
Previous experience with young people isn't essential but would be helpful.
A willingness to get involved and be hands-on.
No practical skills are needed full training is given.
A love of the outdoors is an advantage as the young people take part in outdoor hikes and camping.

About 6th Warrington (1st Thelwall) Scout Group

Warrington East Scouts is one of two Scout Districts that cover the Warrington Area. We have groups spread across the East of Warrington covering the following areas of Croft, Culcheth, Glazebury, Hollins Green, Birchwood, Cinnamon Brow, Padgate, Woolston, Fairfield, Westy, Grappenahall, Thelwall, Lymm and Oughtrington. There are 15 Scout Groups and 4 Explorer Scout Units currently within the area with over 250 adults and a little over 1000 young people involved in structured activities every week.

Recruitment and training details:

All full induction will be given along with lots of guidance help and support and full training will be provided. There is an opportunity to gain first aid training and many other skills to help with the role all training is paid for and provided.

This opportunity offers flexible and optional hours to suit, ideally around 2 hours a week, with the option to support camps and trips

DBS required. Costs covered by the Scouts Association
