Young Carers Drop In Support for WIRED Young Carers Service
This role is to support staff in their Young Carer Drop-In sessions. This could involve delivering a range of activities, including arts and crafts, music sessions and project work. On occasion, volunteers may also help with administrative duties in the Young Carers office. You will provide a listening ear to visitors of the drop-in sessions and will aim to provide a safe and friendly environment where young carers can meet other young carers, connect with staff and volunteers, and spend quality time outside of their caring role.
Wired services exist to respond to the needs of individuals, therefore, many of the tasks and responsibilities may be unpredictable and varied. It is expected that volunteers will be flexible when needed, for instance, undertaking tasks that have not specifically been named in their task description.

Wired is a charity that delivers a range of services in the North West of England that supports children, adults and older people to live as independently as possible. Wired's ethos and culture are about empowering people, helping to remove the barriers disadvantaged people face and support the inclusion of all people in society. The charity could not help as many people each year without the support of volunteers.
We would be looking for volunteers to commit to at least one of our regular drop-ins for a period of at least 6 months to ensure continuity for the young carers who use the service.
You must be able to undertake relevant training and meet with staff when necessary.
Drop-ins are held at various times and locations across Warrington.
Volunteers must complete an induction, which covers carers awareness, safeguarding, confidentiality, health & safety and data protection.
You must be aged 18 or over.
