Mentor for Warrington Youth Club
The Mentoring Programmes at Onside Warrington Youth Club provides Volunteer Mentor support for vulnerable and at-risk children and young people aged between 7 and 19 years old. It increases confidence, self-esteem and life skills, though 1:1 support through positive role models and fun activities.
No experience is necessary as full training will be given to all Mentors prior to being matched with a suitable young person.
Warrington Youth Club believes in 'Inspiring young people to achieve'. We exist to support young people’s development, offering opportunities to gain, increase and develop skills, knowledge, self awareness and confidence, and enabling them to make positive and healthy life choices through our wide range of programmes aimed at different age groups.
Training will include:
• Introduction to Mentoring
• Child Protection & Safeguarding
• Professional Boundaries
• Action Planning & Goal Setting
• Budgeting and Independent Living Skills
• Communication Skills
• Understanding Children & Young People
All Mentors will be supported and supervised throughout their journey with Warrington Youth Club and a written reference will be given after 12 months service.
