What would I be doing?

Our bus service collects a range of members from the community and helps them get to where they need to go. A trip to the shops or a trip to the docs, we aim to help. As a driver, you collect the bus from our station and follow the route provided. You are supported by another volunteer that helps you and the passengers.

What skills do I need?

A full, clean driving license.
Willingness to engage with different kinds of people.
Understanding and willingness to follow a route and a process.
An eye for safety and security
A sense of humour doesn't hurt either!

About Burtonwood And Winwick Community Bus

We are a charity running a community mini bus scheme for residents of Burtonwood and Winwick. The Mini Buses are parked at Burtonwood Community Centre.
Our community mini bus can take members of the scheme shopping, to medical appointments, work, and community groups for a small fare.

Recruitment and training details:

Get in touch for an informal chat to find out more and see if this is the opportunity for you.
If we all agree it's going to work then you will undergo a DBS check.
Training is provided and you need to be prepared to do the Midas (mini bus driver training). Communication takes place through WhatsApp list of jobs are advertised the day before. Volunteers are asked each week what days they can help out the following week so there is no permanent commitment.
