What would I be doing?

Volunteer Advisor's will meet with clients on a one to one basis to assist them with any problems they may be experiencing. This role involves advice and guidance to service users on many varying issues and situations.

What skills do I need?

Good communication, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work with written English and some financial information.

We provide free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to everyone on their rights and responsibilities.

Recruitment and training details:

The volunteer manager will be in touch once you enquire below, to invite you first for an informal meeting to explain the role and the training involved.

Full training is provided in stages- which can take up to 6-12 months to complete - after which you will be able to assess the client's position and facilitate a whole range of responses.

Trainee Advisors will need to do some study work but full support is always available. This is more of a demanding role but one which is enjoyed by our volunteers. The role gives a tremendous amount of satisfaction and makes a real difference in the community.
