What would I be doing?

If appointed, you will be a trustee board member for Footsteps looking after a specific area that you specialise in.

Willing to attend four Board meetings and three committee meetings per year. These are usually held in the evenings. There is also typically at least one strategy planning day per year.

This is a voluntary role, although expenses can be paid. Our Trustees serve for a five year term, but can seek re-election at the end of this period for a further three-year term.
As a Trustee, you would need to be able to attend four Board meetings. These meetings are mostly held at our office in Warrington.

We are seeking to broaden the professional experience of the Trustees and candidates must have professional experience at a senior level.

What skills do I need?

We are particularly interested in hearing from applicants with experience/backgrounds in the following areas:

Law/Charity Fundraising/Marketing and Communications/HR.
We are especially looking for someone with experience in finance or someone from a children's services background.

If you feel passionate about supporting families affected by a loved one’s substance misuse and you are able to think creatively and strategically, and you can make a time commitment we would love to hear from you.

Previous governance experience and/or knowledge of marketing and charity fundraising would be advantageous but not essential. Our Trustee positions are voluntary and unpaid, but we do take-up references.

About Footsteps 2000 Ltd

Footsteps is a charity working in Warrington and St Helens in the North West of England. We offer listening, information and support to anyone affected by someone else’s drug or alcohol use.
Since our foundation in 2000, we have helped thousands of parents, grandparents, partners, siblings and friends to cope with their situation in the best way for them. Footsteps supports children from the age of 4 right through to adulthood.

Recruitment and training details:

Full training will be provided. Expenses will be paid to and from the Footsteps office.
Further training opportunities will be made available.
