WVA's course for volunteers and staff that are part of delivering services and running activities.

COURSE INFORMATION:

This course is for anyone that works with anyone in a charity, community or voluntary group setting as staff or a volunteer. It takes into account the strong, consistent relationship the staff and volunteers have with people in the community and the importance of that relationship.  Together, we focus on a realistic and practical approach to safeguarding and avoiding challenging situations.

There are various courses available that take safeguarding from the client's perspective, this course flips the idea around and looks at it from the 'worker's' viewpoint.  This makes the information relevant in a number of situations from planning to delivery and evaluation.  The course also features logistic and operational information to support organisations create a holistic approach to keeping everyone involved safe.

There is no role-play or quiz, you will not be put on the spot or challenged as an individual to answer.

  • Current principles of adult and child Safeguarding
  • Who do we Safeguard and how?
  • Types of abuse and their signs and signifiers
  • Practical tools and considerations
