Warrington Voluntary Action - Community Engagement Worker - Poverty Truth Commission (2 x part time roles available)

Warrington Voluntary Action have been invited by Warrington Borough Council to coordinate Warrington’s first Poverty Truth Commission (PTC).

Poverty Truth Commissions are about bringing about change - changing organisations and communities behaviours and attitudes towards poverty and taking action to tackle it.

The PTC brings together people who have direct lived experience of poverty with key decision makers to form a group of commissioners who meet and work together on the key issues guided by the Community Commissioners.

The Poverty Truth Network have made a short introductory film about the process which can be found here: The Purpose of the Network | Poverty Truth Network

People and their stories are at the heart of truly understanding and addressing poverty, and so they must be properly heard, respected and valued. Thus, although the Community Engagement Worker roles are about co-ordination and process, the purpose is to deliver a commission in a truly relational way, which prioritises the leadership of those who are more often marginalised or voiceless.

All information and how to apply can be found in the attached Job Description.
