Cheshire and Merseyside Cancer Alliance

WVA are pleased to be working with Cheshire and Merseyside Cancer Alliance (CMCA) to raise awareness of:
- The benefits of NHS cancer screening and how to access it.
- The importance of early detection and the symptoms that could be a sign of cancer.
- Ways in which we can lower the risk of some cancers.
How are we doing this?
Our VCFSE sector touches the lives of so many people. Something as simple as a very brief conversation about cancer, whilst taking part in a group or activity, could make all the difference.
We are working with small, medium and large groups/organisations to enable this to happen.
Some examples of the work that’s already taken place:
- Birchwood Youth and Community Centre
- Blooming Art
- Lifetime
- Ludovico Foundation – Chat Cancer Podcast
- Speak-up For All
- Talk Hub CIC
- Torus Housing
Our focus is on tackling inequalities in cancer outcomes across Warrington, and are working with groups/organisations to support and empower people within specific areas and groups.
If you run a group/organisation within Warrington and would like to know more please contact Helen.
