Asda Foundation Investing in Spaces and Places Grant

The new Asda Regional funding scheme, Investing in Spaces and Places Grant, is available for local grassroots organisations for the improvement of community spaces where the community can come together and thrive.

Some things that are fundable include;

  • Building repairs
  • Building improvement or development
  • Outdoor Improvement or development.

Organisations must demonstrate:

  • Commitment to the community mission.
  • People-centred activity i.e. promotion of equality, inclusivity and diversity.
  • Efficient running of the group.
  • Local-focused projects i.e. the space is a focal point in the community.


Grants between £5,000 and £25,000 are available.

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Raise at least 50% of the total project cost from other sources
  • Own and have full responsibility for the upkeep and maintenance of the building/space; or lease and have full responsibility for upkeep and maintenance with at least 10 years remaining.
  • Confirm they have an annual income of under £250,000


How to apply

It is a four stage process to apply for the Investing in Spaces and Places Grant.

If you are interested in applying and meet all of the criteria, you must contact the Asda Community Champion (Liz Cotteril) to discuss your project and register your interest by 9th January 2022.
