The MECC training course aims to improve your understanding of what affects people in Warrington (key lifestyle factors e.g. healthy eating, activity, sexual health, tobacco control etc) and how and why to bring such lifestyle factors up in conversation. The course also aims to improve your awareness of how and where to signpost and refer individuals for further information/support and enables you to practice questioning and intervention techniques.
 
Who Should Attend
All staff or volunteers who have contact with the public.
 
Course Content
  • An overview of key public health areas: tobacco control, healthy eating and activity, substance misuse, cancer, sexual health, healthy ageing and mental health.
  • Skills practice exercises in relation to wellbeing conversations
  • Information about local support services and how to refer people in to services 

Course duration 3.5 hours

Please note that lunch will NOT be provided for this half day session.  Tea/coffee will be available.
